Gobble till ya Wobble

Am I the only fitness guru out there who doesn’t promote being good during the holidays? I’m genuinely annoyed by all the tweets and Facebook posts like, “Five ways to eat less on Thanksgiving,” and “Tips to stay away from desserts.” Seriously?? It’s called a holiday for a reason! I totally get that if you have six parties your attending over the course of week, probably you shouldn’t indulge at every one. But when we are talking about Thanksgiving day, I’m all for eating a big ole slice a pumpkin pie (or two), which is of course followed by the biggest plate of your favorite goodies like green bean casserole and mashed potatoes.

My sister and I recently decided we would cook for Christmas, rather than having it catered. She suggested we go with some healthier alternatives, to which I replied, “I’m not on board for that.”

I’m hosting my own Thanksgiving dinner this year, and here’s what I’ll be making: pecan pie with extra brown sugar, veg all casserole with extra butter and cheese, and corn bread muffins instead of the standard dinner rolls. Oh and yes they will be smothered in butter! I’m super excited to make my favorite dishes and indulge WITHOUT GUILT in every one:). My fitness tip: You should do the same!

Happy Thanksgiving!
